Over the previous 24 hours, the two biggest cryptocurrencies were Ethereum (+8%) and Solana (+6%). Etheruem and Solana both made significant increases over the past few days, rising just under 40% and 30%, respectively. At the time of writing, the price of Bitcoin was slightly under $22,000, an increase of almost +3% over the previous day.

During Market hours on Yesterday (Monday – 18.07.2022):

  • The Dow (Symbol: DIA) went down -0.64%. The S&P 500 (Symbol: SPY) lost -0.83%. and the Nasdaq (Symbol: QQQ) fell -0.85%.
  • Goldman Sachs (Symbol: GS) – The bank stock jumped +2.51% after the company posted profit and revenue that exceeded analysts’ estimates. Goldman’s fixed income traders generated roughly $700 million more revenue than expected on “significantly higher” trading activity in interest rates, commodities and currencies.
  • Delta Air Lines (Symbol: DAL), Boeing (Symbol: BA) – Shares of Delta Air Lines jumped +3.49% on news that it’s purchasing 100 Boeing 737 Max 10 planes, in a deal that marks Delta’s first new Boeing aircraft order in over a decade. Boeing shares dipped -0.01% following the news.
  • Tesla (Symbol: TSLA) – Shares rose +0.02% after Deutsche Bank added the company to its short-term buy list, citing the potential for it to exceed Wall Street expectations when it reports earnings. Tesla reports quarterly earnings on Wednesday.
  • Coinbase (Symbol: COIN) – Shares jumped +9.07% after DNB Asset Management, a large European asset manager, bought shares of the cryptocurrency exchange. Bitcoin also surged to a monthly high. 

During Premarket hours today (Tuesday – 19.07.2022):

  • IBM (Symbol: IBM) – IBM slid -5.9% in premarket action despite beating top and bottom line estimates for the second quarter. IBM warned of a $3.5 billion impact to earnings because of the strong U.S. dollar.
  • Johnson & Johnson (Symbol: JNJ) – The health-care company reported quarterly profit of $2.59 per share, 5 cents a share above estimates. Revenue beat forecasts as well. J&J cut its full-year guidance, however, due to the strength of the U.S. dollar rather than operational issues.
  • Hasbro (Symbol: HAS) – The toy maker topped estimates by 21 cents a share, with quarterly earnings of $1.15 per share. Revenue was very slightly below forecasts. Hasbro said it continues to take steps to cut costs, and to ensure that it has sufficient holiday season inventories.
  • Boeing (Symbol: BA) – Boeing is near a deal to sell a small number of 787 Dreamliners to aircraft leasing company AerCap Holdings, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to The Wall Street Journal. Boeing added +1.3% in premarket action.
